The Results Equation™ Workshop
The Results Equation Workshop is a 2-day session with the senior leadership team that articulates and aligns an organization’s purpose, strategy, long- and short-term goals, and cultural beliefs of the organization.
Overview
In this workshop, senior leaders will learn to define and align their organization’s purpose, vision, strategy, and key results. Through interactive sessions, they will be introduced to models such as the Results Pyramid® and the Above The Line® vs. Below The Line® model, which will help them identify and implement necessary cultural shifts.
Senior leaders will engage in group activities to craft and finalize Cultural Beliefs®, and apply Focused Feedback® and storytelling to activate these beliefs. By the end of the workshop, they will have developed a concrete plan to operationalize the Cultural Beliefs, ensuring sustainable change and enhanced organizational performance.
Before the Workshop
Culture Partners will work with you to walk you through The Results Equation Workshop, and ensure that the team is prepared to talk about each key part of the Results Equation.
Results Equation Workshop Planning Meeting
Before the workshop, the Culture Partners team meets with the organizational leader (most often the CEO) to prepare them for the upcoming workshop. The discussion reviews and refines the organization’s purpose, vision, strategy, and key results. It also emphasizes the leader’s role in the workshop, highlighting the importance of ownership, openness to feedback, and active participation.
One-on-One Interviews
In preparation for the workshop, our team conducts one-on-one interviews with key senior leaders to understand more about the leaders, their accomplishments, and their opinions on the necessary shifts in thinking and behavior to achieve their results. Leaders are also asked to identify their top three strategic priorities and key results needed for success, along with corresponding metrics.
During the Workshop
The workshop unpacks the following components of The Results Equation:
The Purpose of an organization is its reason for existing. After reviewing criteria for what makes a good purpose statement, you and your colleagues will collaborate to define why your organization exists.
The R2/Vision is the long-term, clear, achievable goal (category and metric) that helps your organization know you are living and fulfilling your purpose.
The Strategic Drivers are the long-term priorities of the organization to drive organizational success and achieve the R2/Vision.
The Key Results are the specific categories and metrics that measure how well you focus your organization’s mindshare, time, energy, and resources on your path to achieving R2. They should be measurable, meaningful, and memorable.
The Cultural Beliefs are the beliefs prioritized as key to how an organization thinks and acts to achieve its desired results
Senior leaders, along with their CEO will define and clarify these elements for their organization, and develop Cultural Beliefs that drive these elements forward.
Operationalize the Process – an integration plan is critical to successfully implementing the principles taught in the workshop. Using tools from the workshop gives participants a chance to put into practice the methodologies and further strengthen their interactions with colleagues.
Key Resources
After the Workshop
Approximately 1-2 weeks after The Results Equation Workshop, a debrief is held to review four key areas:
- Discuss feedback and insights that arose out of The Results Equation Workshop.
- Review your organization’s Results Playbook (a summary of key points and decisions from The Results Equation Workshop).
- If applicable, introduce your organization’s Results Map as a visual tool to explain the “Why Change” message, making communication more effective and impactful.
- Discuss next steps, including establishing culture leads, committee members and champions, and rolling out an organization-wide Culture Alignment Workshop.
- Explore foundational culture models, tools, and key concepts at the Post-Workshop Resource Center. These resources will empower participants and leaders to ignite your culture and help drive meaningful results.
