What to Expect as a Champion

As a Culture Champion, you are an ambassador of Culture in your organization. In this role, you will embody your organization’s culture in the way you think and act, empower others in your organization to become experts with Culture Management Tools, and create experiences to get everyone aligned around your new culture. There are three key ways that you’ll do this: Modeling, Coaching and Facilitating.

Model

Model the Cultural Beliefs® and behaviors

Know your organization’s Purpose, Key Results and Cultural Beliefs so well that they are naturally integrated into conversations 

Act in ways that are aligned with what you want your culture to be 

Develop expertise with Culture Management Tools 

Listen to leaders and use their messaging as a standard for coaching 

Coach

Coach others how to model the culture and use the Culture Management Tools

Coach leaders and peers in needed skills to lead change

Highlight Cultural Beliefs in action and other behaviors that are representative of the culture you want 

Empower others in your organization to become experts with Culture Management Tools

Collaborate with the Culture Committee on needed traction and best practices based on feedback

Facilitate the Culture Alignment workshops

Lead the Culture Alignment workshop experience to get everyone in your organization aligned around your new culture 

Create opportunities for exposure to the Culture Management process

Your First 120 Days 

The first 120 days as a Culture Champion are critical to lay the groundwork for your success and ensuring you have the tools, knowledge, and connections to make a lasting impact. While every journey is unique, this timeline represents typical events along the journey.

First 30 Days

Build Relationships

Start connecting with fellow Culture Champions, leaders, and teams. Establish a network of support and collaboration that will be essential in your role.

31-60 Days

The Culture Alignment Workshop

The Culture Champions facilitate the Culture Alignment workshop experience, helping to align everyone in the organization around the culture shifts, learn new concepts, and empower teams to apply tools and models that ignite culture movement. 

Align on your Results Equation

Learn about the essential elements that make up your organization’s unique culture.

Collaborate on Needed Cultural Shifts

Identify and implement the changes necessary to align your current culture with your desired cultural vision.

Apply Culture Management Tools

Equip yourself and your team with the practical tools and strategies needed to effectively manage and sustain the cultural shifts you’ve identified.

61-90 Days

Culture Champion Certification

This workshop is designed to help Culture Champions develop a deeper understanding of the concepts, models, and tools used to ignite culture change. Culture Champions will learn how to facilitate the Culture Alignment workshop experience, ensuring that the organization’s cultural values and principles are clearly understood and embraced. 

Examine Culture Change Methodologies

Explore culture change methodologies to better understand and apply them collectively. Each one contributes a unique perspective and set of tools to your cultural transformation. By leveraging all these approaches, you ensure a comprehensive and effective strategy for achieving and sustaining the cultural changes your organization needs.

Practice Facilitating Workshop Concepts

Hone your facilitation skills by practicing the key concepts that will be covered in Culture Alignment workshops. Engage in hands-on exercises and role-playing scenarios to build confidence and proficiency in guiding discussions, encouraging participation, and driving home the essential cultural messages. This practice ensures that you’re well-prepared to lead workshops effectively, creating an engaging and impactful learning experience for all participants.

Participate in Collaborative Coaching Sessions

Engage in collaborative coaching sessions designed to enhance your leadership and cultural influence. These sessions provide a supportive environment where you can share experiences, receive feedback, and learn from others. The focus is on collective growth, as you and your peers work together to overcome challenges, refine your approach, and strengthen your ability to drive cultural change. 

91-120 Days

Facilitate The Culture Alignment Experience

Culture Champions facilitate the Culture Alignment workshop experience to the organization. The workshop is designed to energize and engage the entire team, ensuring that everyone understands their role in building and sustaining the desired culture. Through clear communication, interactive activities, and leadership support, you’ll set the tone for a unified and focused cultural journey, laying the foundation for lasting change.

Note that in some organizations, not every Culture Champion is a facilitator.

Capture Learnings and Fine-Tune Your Strategy

Capture key learnings and refine your facilitation strategy through a blend of peer-to-peer and expert coaching. Engage in reflective discussions with your peers to share insights and practical advice, while our coaching team provides personalized feedback and strategic guidance to help hone your facilitation skills.

Culture Champion Evolution: Expand your focus from facilitator to model-coach.  

Your Culture Leadership Team

Culture Champions are vital members of your Culture Leadership Team. This team is typically comprised of four key roles: Senior Leadership, Culture Lead, Culture Committee, and Culture Champions. Together, this team will drive culture change throughout your organization
